We were initially drawn to Rónan due to his prior work at Ballymagarvey Village and the vibrancy of his wedding photography - and we were not disappointed! He has a special talent behind the lens and a keen awareness of when to stage the photo-ops and let the candid moments speak for themselves. From our prep calls through the wedding day, he was an easygoing and proactive partner to us, and very gracious with our family and friends. We first discovered his work on Instagram and instantly loved his natural, candid style. From the very beginning he was an absolute pleasure to deal with – he even spent over an hour with us before the wedding walking through the timeline and sharing tips to help the day run smoothly. Honestly, he was as much a wedding coordinator as he was a photographer keeping us on track with timing! Our families and friends are still talking about how wonderful Rónan was on the day. He went out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable, not just us, and it really shines through in the photos. We were blown away to receive our sneak peek album on the very first day of our honeymoon, it was the perfect start to the trip. Hannah H19 October 2024When planning a wedding, you have to make a thousand different decisions and it can be a little overwhelming. If you’ve come to find yourself reading this review, congratulations, you’ve found Rónan! After marrying your spouse, this will be the best decision you’ll ever make. As you can see for yourself, Rónan’s photos are amazing, but let me tell you about the benefits of choosing Rónan that go beyond the photos. Something that we perhaps hadn’t considered is that after your spouse, the person who will be with you for every moment of your day, is your photographer. Rónan was such a friendly, calming presence and we never felt like there was a camera in our face however looking at our photos now, he seems to have captured every candid moment. The morning of your wedding needs a lot of coordinating and the last thing you want is to be roaring at the lads to get their suits on, or hurrying on your hair lady. Ronan quietly conducted the whole orchestra of the morning and kept everyone on track. As a two bride wedding, some had advised us that we may need two photographers to capture all those special bridal moments of the morning but I can promise you that you don’t need two photographers if you have one Rónan. Both bridal parties got ready separately and somehow Rónan managed to be in two places at once and we both have ample photos of all the important steps of that morning. In addition to his peerless professionalism and experience, what sets Rónan apart from the others is his shot in the dark. The photo itself is our favourite from the day, but actually posing for that photo is my personal highlight of the whole wedding. It was so lovely to have a little moment to ourselves that evening and I’ll treasure that memory and that photo forever. Huge credit to Rónan, who didn’t complain once about having to wait to do a shot in the dark on the longest day of the year. In summary, look no further, you’ve found the guy. He’s the one. Mairead Keegan15 October 2024We honestly could not recommend Ronan enough. We originally had Ronan as our wedding photographer ten yrs ago and he has since done many friends' weddings. We recently had the pleasure of Ronan do informal photos of our family. The kids loved Ronan, and everyone felt relaxed during the photoshoot. Ronan obliged with any requests we had, there were a few, and he willing done them. The end result is fantastic and we look forward to Ronan doing more photos for us over the years. After a quick email exchange and phone call, we very quickly knew we'd made the right choice of photographer for our wedding. From the first meeting Ronan put us immediately at ease. His shooting revolves around "capturing the moment" which is the vibe we were after and precisely what Ronan delivered. And his unique A Shot In The Dark is tailored to each person and we are blown away with the results he presented for our day. Ronan is very easy to work with, both before and on a wedding day, very well organised, and we cannot praise him enough for the amazing photos he has captured for our special day. We wanted someone that we could have a laugh with to give the photos a more candid feel and reduce some of the tedium involved in taking pictures. He arrived to the madhouse that was our aparment on the morning of the wedding and took magical photos that really captured what went on, including things that didnt seem important until looking back in the following days and weeks. His advice and experience from similar sized weddings and venues was invaluable in helping us work out timings and expectations not just for our photo session but for all parts of the day. We knew this back in 2020 when he photographed my sister's wedding so when our time came around, there was only 1 man for the job! Rónan captured our day so well including moments that we would never have seen without him. He has such an eye for detail! He even took some extra special photos adjusting the lighting indoors since it was raining and we couldn't take many photos outdoors - Rónan went above and beyond for us! He made sure we spent minimal time having photos taken and maximum time celebrating with our guests - talented and efficient! He is an absolute gent and was a pleasure to have as part of our wedding day! Rónan's support and guidance throughout the planning process was excellent e.g. to decide timings and plan for every eventuality. Anytime we had a query, Rónan was straight back with a clear and detailed answer. He arranged a call with us the week before our wedding to run through everything which was so appreciated and made sure that everything ran smoothly on the day! We received a sneak preview just a few days later including a slideshow to music which was a lovely touch and allowed us to re-live it all straight away. Bríd Cavanagh25 June 2023Rónan was fantastic from when we booked him. He was organised and responsive to messages and gave really good advice in the lead up to the day about the timing of the ceremony and dinner bell. We had a zoom call before the wedding and he completely put us at ease. On the day he was excellent. The whole day flowed really well but you also barely noticed if he was there. We got a sneak peak of the photos in a few days and all the photos within a few weeks. We are delighted with how they turned out. There are some lovely ones of young niece and nephew which would not have been easy to capture! Would definitely recommend Rónan to any couple getting married.Posted on Google

Alan Meehan20 March 2023Rónan photographed our wedding in October 2022, and as a couple who usually do not like posing for photos, we knew we were in good hands from the first meeting with him. On the day, his professional yet laid-back manner put us completely at ease, and thanks to his great eye we got so many creative and striking shots and set-ups. However, his biggest skill of all was being able to disappear into the crowd to capture us and our guests at their most natural, which is just what we wanted. We received a huge folder of ‘sneak peak’ photos just days after the wedding, and the entire set just a few weeks later, all of which are absolutely stunning. Very clear communication so we knew exactly what to expect. He was incredibly non invasive on the day and took some beautiful shots of everyone just being. Our favourite photos from the day are the ones he caught of being enjoying themselves. Lucy Foster21 June 2022Rónan was the photographer for our wedding at Langtons Kilkenny in May 2022. We honestly could not have asked for a better photographer than Rónan. He was friendly, fun, and helpful to have around all day - whilst remaining professional and focused as well! In the morning, he was a pleasure to have around, and even helped our groomsmen with their cufflinks and button holes, to make sure that everyone looked perfect on the day! Rónan has an incredible eye, and as well as delivering the key photos that we knew we wanted, he also captured so many amazing candid and unexpected moments that have made our album that bit more special. A lot of the spaces in our venue were inside with limited or no natural light, and Rónan was amazing at making these spaces look so well-lit! Some of our favourite photos were taken with cool and interesting lighting that Rónan set up himself. He made sure that he delivered all of this whilst keeping us feeling comfortable and at ease, so that we are always happy and smiling in each of the photos. Rónan really works to match the couple and the venue, which is exactly what you need from a wedding photographer. All of our family & friends loved him as much as we did. Ronan is however, so much more than a photographer, he is meticulous, professional, and sincere. He has a calming presence and knows the exact words to say to put you at ease on the day. Suzanne McCole12 January 2022Well, what can I say - I literally cannot say enough about this man and his photographic talent!!! We booked Ronan (no body else came anywhere close in our preferences) after I met him at a friends wedding in July 2016. At that point, I believe he had already done photography for that grooms cousins wedding and possibly a friend/cousin before that. He was also booked for the grooms brothers wedding a few years later if I remember correctly. We viewed our friends wedding album some time after we got engaged and I knew there was no research to be done on wedding photographers - we were going with Ronan! As we were faced with plenty of COVID restrictions in the lead up to the wedding last year, our first meeting with Ronan took place over Zoom - he couldnt have made us feel more comfortable and we had plenty of chats and laughs and got to know us both a bit better and got a feel for what we were looking for on the day. On the day, he arrived at my parents house in good time and settled in to quietly wandering around the house, capturing the most amazing photos of parts of the house and different moments that I'd never have even dreamed of! Ronan has the ideal personality for his job and clicks with everyone that's around on the morning of the wedding. Having taken a few photos at my parents house, he drove up to our house where my now husband was with his family and Best Man and took some more amazing photos here before returning to my parents house for me leaving for the venue. Combined with the super organisation of our hairstylist Adrienne (Powder Room Girls) and our makeup artist (Rhona Cullinan), Ronan helped to keep us all on schedule and on our toes for the lead up to the departure time for the wedding venue. We booked Ronan's longer day package, to include the Shot in the Dark photo - I cannot tell you how highly I rate this. I'd seen so many amazing shots in his portfolio and in magazines, for which he's won awards and just had to have him do a photo of us like this! He did NOT disappoint. I'll never forget the fun, laughs and chats we had with Ronan on the wedding day, both during the morning in my parents house and throughout the day at the wedding venue! He is there and taking so many amazing photos, yet you barely even realise he's around. Such a quiet, gentleman with amazing talent!! I was looking to do a slideshow of photos of both my husband and I as babies, up through childhood and towards our wedding date, as a surprise for my husband on the day. I'd mentioned this to Ronan and asked him if he could recommend software I could use or ways in which I could organise it. He offered to quickly throw the photos I'd spent weeks organising together with music for me and as we had him booked for the longer day package, he connected it up to the projector screen with his laptop. OMG, the results were so much better than I ever could have imagined or done myself - the selection of photos he'd taken that morning and at different points in the day, that he'd added in at the end, were the icing on the cake! The whole slideshow and some of the songs still bring tears to my eyes! Such a lovely memory to have to look back on from our wedding day. The morning after our wedding day, we woke in the Bridal Suite to a message from Ronan with a sneak peak of some of our wedding photos, including the Shot in the Dark photo - it was amazing, still so in love with it!!! We went away on a Minimoon only a few days later and on arrival in our first hotel, I received an email from Ronan with a link to a further sneak peak of some of our photos from the day - perfect start to our Minimoon! If you're looking for a photographer for your wedding, I would highly recommend that you look no further than Ronan Palliser - the man's a legend and you will NOT be disappointed!!!!Posted on Google

He was in all the right locations and made sure that all of our guests were included and felt comfortable. Half of the time we didn't even notice he was there but he managed to capture the most amazing candid photos throughout the night. He was such a calming presence on the morning of the wedding. It felt like he was part of the family. He put us all at ease. We live overseas and after our first Skype conversation with Ronan, we both decided to extend our package to have him as long as possible. His knowledge regarding all the details of the day is amazing. He was incredibly helpful in organizing and helping me (as the bride) to time things right (i.e. don't put the dress on too early!) His professionalism and etiquette was unbelievable. He was truly everywhere, capturing every moment and the moments that he captured brought tears to my eyes. Ronan took the time to work with me one on one and explain how to work with flash properly. He made things simple and easy to understand, making this daunting world much clearer for me. He followed up with incredible notes and is always there to answer any question I may have. Many photographers fear flash and I was one of them, now I am not scared anymore, in fact, I am excited to put my new knowledge to use. Aisling Kearney4 October 2016It's hard to put into words just how amazing a wedding photographer Ronan is!! He photographed our wedding back in May and we are absolutely thrilled with our photos!! Ronan was so easy to work with and provided some great practical wedding advise - like reminding my Mam to actually button up the back of my dress :-) He made friends with our 2 year old page boy before whipping out a big camera and scaring him and ended up getting some gorgeous photos of him! He blended into the crowd on the day and wasn't in our faces telling us to pose this way and that way like so many wedding photographers can be! Before the wedding he sat down with us and asked all our families names and all about our bridal party and he knew all their names on the day and knew who was who!! He was very conscious not to spend our whole day getting photos and gave us plenty of time to enjoy ourselves with our guests :-) So many of our guests complimented how lovely and friendly he was on the day and one of my bridesmaids was so impressed with him that she got him to do her sons newborn photos the following month! As soon as you arrived into our house you were so relaxed and calm everyone commented on it from the makeup artists to the hairdressers. Nothing was forced and great fun was had by us all . Our sneak peek online album was available to us the day after our wedding and the full wedding album was available two days later which was amazing!The quality of our albums is top notch and we're showing them off at every opportunity we can . Went above and Beyond for my husband and I at our wedding last christmas (2015) even getting soaked outside in the rain/muddy feet wasn't an issue!!! Recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint! Fiona McCarthy24 November 2015I simply cannot say enough about Ronan Palliser on both a personal and professional level. On a personal level, from the second Ronan's smiling face came through the door, I felt immediately at ease. He was a lovely, yet extremely unobtrusive, presence throughout the day. His experience of weddings has made him somewhat of an expert and he had helpful little tid-bits of advice to offer when needed. He took so much time with my 2 little girls aged 1 and 2 at the time, making them feel at ease at all times. At various points throughout the day he played the role of messenger, family gatherer, taxi driver and zen-like calmer on top of being the world's most relaxed and pleasant photographer. I can honestly say with Ronan around there wasn't one shred of photo-related stress throughout the day. Family photos seemed to only take minutes and Ronan got some beautiful location shots even though we only felt we were away from our guests for 15 minutes or so. On a professional level Ronan is simply superb, the best. He captured our day exactly how it went, every second of it. You can see everyone's expressions change gradually thoughout the day from anticipation, to joy, to down-right party mode!! The photos he took of my 2 girls are amongst the most beautiful photos I've ever seen, he is just a natural with children. Within 24 hours I had received a 'Sneak Peek', within days the most beautiful photo montage set to music (still cry everytime I see it) and within a week or 2 I had received nearly a thousand high quality photos. From the second I contatcted him he was a thorough professional and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you Ronan, from the bottom of our hearts. You captured our day and us, just the way we are. Everybody is still talking about not only how beautiful the photos are but how professional yet easy going he was. He just blended into the background while making the whole day run smoothly at the same time! You wouldn't even notice he was there but yet when he was gone we all missed him! His Slideshow and Photos tell the story of our day beautifully and we will both always be so thankful to him for creating magical memories for us!
