Fiona and Jim’s wedding day was a day full of laughter, but it was also most certainly a day full of colour. From the bride’s bouquet to the bridesmaid’s dresses to the cake topper to the Orla Kiely mass booklets (brides to be: I bet that’s got your attention!) – even the colour of the pageboy’s hair – everywhere you looked there was colour, and the fact that the sun was out to shine on it was a bonus. Then again, that shouldn’t have been a surprise, seeing as the child of Prague was sitting in the garden since the evening before. Before getting to that and some other photos from the day, I must wish the bride a happy birthday as she celebrates her first as a married woman today – so Happy Birthday Fi!
The afore-mentioned child of Prague:

Now about those Orla Kiely mass booklets. Well, I could pretend… but the truth is they weren’t really Orla Kiely booklets, but they fitted so well into an Orla Kiely box, they could have been:

The bridesmaids – Fiona’s sisters Niamh and Ciara – looked stunning in pink, and were as relaxed as Fiona was during the morning, which is always good. Niamh even took time out to check out the death notices in the paper. As you do…

Fiona’s got ready in her parents’ house in Crosshaven and it had the most beautiful light and was a treasure trove for photos:

Ciara took on the responsibility of tying up the dress:

And with that, Fiona was good to go:

Meanwhile up the road at Crosshaven Church, the boys were looking pretty swish:

and the girls weren’t looking too bad either:

Jim’s nephew Eoin was pageboy, and one of the cutest I’ve ever seen:

After the ceremony I captured that rarest of things – a group shot that kind of works. They can be very hit or miss, unless you spend 10 minutes individually positioning people into the ‘right’ place – which is not really my style. I prefer the hang-out-of-a-lamp-post-and-hope kind of shot like this:

That cake topper I mentioned was a surprise from Fiona (a Cork girl) for Jim (a Clare boy), and it was brilliant:

And finally, after dinner and before the dancing, we stepped outside Maryborough House for a quick night time shot, and a nice closing shot for an album:

For the photographers out there I’ll probably walk through the setup of that last shot some time in the future, so keep an eye out for that.
