I booked my first wedding for the 2036 season a couple of weekends ago.  The exact date is to be confirmed, but it’ll be there or thereabouts hopefully, give or take a couple of years.  The bride’s name is Clodagh.  The groom has yet to be found, but there’s no harm in being organized about these things.  I’ve no doubt she’ll make a beautiful bride, because she is a delight in front of the camera.  So much so, in fact, that I’ve specifically requested to photograph her wedding, and I’ll do it for free too.  Of course, because Clodagh is just 3 years old, she didn’t have much time for planning a wedding when we last met, what with all the colouring and cupcake eating and nail painting and dress holding that there was to be done.  It’s hard work being a flowergirl afterall, as you’ll see below.

Clodagh is the daughter of Gareth & Roseann, who were married in Straffan Church recently.  Together with her co-conspirator and fellow flower girl Kate, and assisted by page boy Ronan, she kept the guests at her parents’ wedding laughing all day.   I love kids at weddings, as they just create photographs all by themselves.  And this wedding was the perfect example of that.  For instance, here’s the walk up the aisle:

Back at the house in the morning, as I was photographing the details, I couldn’t resist this shot:

Meanwhile Clodagh was having a spot of breakfast, before getting her nails done:

After breakfast, there was time for some breakfast dessert:

As Roseann put on her dress, Clodagh helped bridesmaid Mary to adjust the bottom of the dress:

Indeed, so successful was her work with the dress, that she tried to take over the role of chief bridesmaid when Mary wasn’t looking:

Mary did a great job of keeping the girls quiet for the important bit during the ceremony:

I just love this photo – most especially the stickers on the bottom of Clodagh’s shoes!

Finally, when all the formalities were over, and the family photos were finished, there was time for a go on the swings:

Of course, I did take some photos of Roseann and Gareth on the day too, seeing as they were really the stars of the day, so stay tuned for some of my favourites from those shots up next.
