By the time we left Ballydaly to head to Millstreet last Saturday for the second half of Margaret and John’s big day – the big bash in the Malton Hotel – the sun had started to stick its head out from behind the clouds and it was looking good for some photographs in the gardens of the hotel.  By the time we finished the formal bridal party photos (which, in reality, I try to keep as informal as possible) the light was just perfect and the photograph above, taken in the gardens with the mountains near Killarney in the background, is one of my favourites.

Earlier on, at the grounds of the church, John’s father, stepping in to pass the bride her flowers, made for a fun photo:

Speaking of those flowers, they were striking:

The front of the Malton is very photogenic, and looks almost monochromatic save for the red carpet:

Not only did the grounds of the Malton have nice light, but they also had a little pond which made for a couple of reflection shots that I find it hard to resist whenever they are available:

I’m a sucker for those more obvious reflections too – this was taken just before Mags went in for dinner with her guests:

And finally, the shot that was the most challenging and the most fun to take all at once, and possibly also the one that will prove to be the most appreciated shot of the day, being the first photo that exists of John’s parents will all six of their grandchildren.  Needless to say whatever plan I had for how everyone would be arranged symmetrically around the grandparents went out the window as more and more of them wanted a chair to sit on too:
