Today is a special day for this blog – it is 100 days old. And that makes this my 100th blog post. I thought about whether I should “mark” this milestone in some way, but I decided to keep it simple and just post a photograph I like of a place I like.
This photograph of Dublin was taken last December, on the same day that I stopped off in Sandymount strand and captured one of my more successful images. I took this particular photograph from the foot of the Dublin mountains, not far from where I live. The car park of the Total Fitness gym in Sandyford gives a good view of the city, and on this December afternoon there was a nice muted light that gives a nice winter feel to this shot.
A friend of mine recently was searching for a photograph of Dublin and this is the first image that came to mind. She was looking for a night time image, so it wasn’t suitable, but it did plant a seed of going back and taking this photograph just after dusk, so that shot is on my to-do list, and I will post the results here when I get around to taking it.
In response to some requests in recent weeks, I’ve now added a link to each post with the details of how to order prints of any images on the blog. If you see an image you like, click on the Buy a print link at the bottom right.
Tomorrow I start my second 100 days of blogging, and embarking on that journey I have some other ideas in the back of my head for material for this blog, some of which you might be interested in. So stay tuned and once I’ve finalized some things you’ll be the first to know.
